Appleyard Farm is a small rural property set amongst the rolling green hills of Robertson in the NSW Southern Highlands. Robertson has a high annual rainfall providing plenty of ‘lovely weather for ducks’. We are a small family business run by husband and wife team Carolyn and Damien Lee.
Our primary goal is to improve the rare Large Silver Appleyard breed, a gourmet table duck. More information about the breed can be found on the ‘Breed Information’ page of this website.
With our background research completed we are poised to commence small scale production of meat birds in 2011. To our knowledge we are to be the only producers of Large Silver Appleyard duck meat in Australia.
Our aim is to supply our birds to a select few local restaurants and providores who wish to offer locally grown free range produce that has not been intensively farmed.
The ducks on Appleyard Farm lead comfortable free range lives. They spend their days foraging, sunning themselves, eating high quality feeds and swimming. We love our birds and we regularly show them at Agricultural and Poultry shows.
The main essential to success with ducks is to have them happy and contented both with their attendant and their surroundings. -
